The Quiet Moment

The quiet moment – the silent moment in yourself…

To seek for that quietness deep in ourselves, to explore the levels of consciousness and seek deeper for the silent space.

The door to enlightenment through the silent space of your heart; the door to awakening through the silence of your being.

To arrive at a concentration in yourself, so that when we sing we sing with full vigor, and when we stop we relax, and arrive at a concentration in the Self.

Bhagavan means that which is the very epitome of worship, that which is the sacredness, the Sanctus, the Truth of your being. Through that Sanctus, through that Truth, your every act, your every expression becomes a worship, becomes sacred, becomes joy: a new rhythm awakens in you – and you live that rhythm.

So we sing from joy, out of joy, so also we sing out of love, out of devotion, and from devotion, from love, reaching to the Truth of ourselves – Bhagavan, God, the very epitome of worship. Through every act of yours you worship your own Self, and you worship all that which exists, for you live in each and every thing, in each and every one; for there is but One Truth in many forms, with many faces, with infinite expressions.

All that which is diverse and multiple originates from a Single Unity, a comprehensive and a complete Truth. Then you start to feel this worship through your every act – there is joy in your worship, there is joy in your act, there is devotion in your act, love in your act –  and you awaken to this rhythm of your being, the soul-rhythm.

Then your whole being is in music, and there is dance in your every pore.

So seek this worship in yourself through your act, through your silence.

It is a search of yourself by yourself; it is a revelation in yourself through yourself.

It is an adventure: turn to it with joy, with devotion, with patience – and yet with longing.

So it is appropriate to spend some time in contemplation, in concentration, in watching – watching and working with different parts of your body, then watching the breath; being watchful of one’s actions, watchful of one’s words, speech, watchful of one’s motives, watchful of one’s biases, likes, dislikes; watchful of how we may be supportive of those we like even against those we consider strangers; reaching to an objectivity in ourselves: how we may pamper someone therefore because of our biases towards him or her and therefore tamper with their growth.

Most times there is always at least two sides to a story. So seek in all this the Truth alone and objectivity.

Watching is actually exploring oneself, the deeper layers of consciousness.

Of course at the primary stage one can watch the body, various parts of the body, and work that way; then the breath; then thoughts, feelings, deeper feelings, emotions, biases, prejudices, ideas, and concepts – finer and finer layers of your consciousness – in that way reaching deep within your being and therefore coming to a stop in yourself ultimately.

For example we sing, we have been singing: some emotions, some feelings may have come up, some joy, happiness – were you watching that happiness? Was there a watcher in you, a witness? We can either go with the happiness, not being a witness, just going with it, becoming the happiness, the joy… And yet we can also be the witness,

we can experience the various feelings, emotions that may come up, and more that are to follow, and therefore reach to the ground – the Being – from which they all come, the Source.

It is like digging into yourself, using all these movements, feelings and emotions and thoughts – everything – like the links of a chain, like the rungs of a ladder going down into a well, or the links of a chain reaching down to the depth of the ocean.

And you will find that there is no end to the depth of your being, just like there is no limit to the heights of your consciousness.

So discover this freedom in yourself, and live it. Live life as such an adventure – in and out, out and in, becoming one natural rhythm, spontaneous and free.

Let life be a freedom song with all its sacredness, worship, and devotion.

Be watchful of your expressions, and what is behind them: keep going further behind.

So whenever one expresses one watches as to how one expresses, and what one expresses, in relation to the situation, the environment, the person. There may be a validity of an expression in a certain situation, in a certain environment, with a certain person, but the same expressions may be invalid in another situation, in another environment, with another person, even so in changing times with the same situation,  the same environment, with the same person. It is to be able to come to that moment of Truth which the moment itself reveals in consonance with your being.

Basically it means to deepen our watchfulness and learn from each situation, from our every expression in various situations, and moving on to explore new vistas of the Self.

Sometimes of course all this transition – watching, meditating – can be quite mundane and laborious – but of course we keep our hopes alive for miracles to happen – the miracle of awakening, of the deep process that makes everything come alive, that makes life an adventure as an actual experience.

That moment we await – in the meanwhile we continue so that we may be present  when it comes knocking on our door.

So we can try as many means as possible, and more – old ones, new ones that we may find – so that we may continue and come to this moment of Miracle, this miraculous moment.

And life and the self-discovery become an adventure, an eternal adventure, endless freedom, a joyful rhythm, a flame forever burning. Life becomes an inspiration that never dies, an intensity which is always ablaze.
