Mellow of devotion

There is a mellow that lives in the heart,

a softness, a profound mellow.

That softness, that mellow is immediately indrawing,

drawing oneself to the depth of the heart.

This is the way that Mira took.

It is the way of devotion.

It is centered in the heart, a profound mellow.

This was the feeling, the feeling that came upon us

when I came and sat down.

It is one of surrender,

surrender to that which lives in the heart,

the Divinity that resides there,

the Divinity of your soul,

the profundity of your Self.

Love, devotion and surrender.

It is sexless,

there is only this beautiful mellow.

It reaches you to Godliness.

It is the devotion of a Chaitanya,

it is the devotion of a Mira,

it is the devotion of the gopis for Krishna.

It is the love of God that abides naturally in your hearts.

It is the love of Divinity.

It brings about the manifestation of Godliness.

You are completely engrossed when this feeling abides.

There is no effort.

There is a total engrossing in the heart.

This is what Christ is talking about when he says to reach in the heart;

to reach to this mellow, profound mellow,

to awaken to this feeling

and therefore arriving at the kingdom of God that dwells in your own heart.

This feeling is the vehicle,

a vehicle that draws you immediately inwards.

‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God

and all things shall be added unto thee.’

Begin with the heart and you come to the total understanding of yourself.

Let your heart awaken to this feeling

and reach to the depth of your being.

The Upanisads talk about the cave in the heart.

Hridaya Guhyam, the secret that abides in your heart,

the kingdom of Christ,

the surrender of Mira and a Chaitanya,

your home for all eternity.

Live in your heart.

When we turn inwards in our hearts, we are turning to prayer.

That prayer is meditation.

That prayer has an attitude, a feeling.

It is a meditation with feeling.

It is a meditation with an attitude,

a one of prayer,

a one of surrender,

a one of love, devotion

that transcends all desires except for one:

the desire to reach to this,

that which abides in your heart. Love of God – Divinity.

When I say God dwells in your heart,

I mean, your profounder Self,

more profound than the self that you now live in.

A Self with a depth and a height that knows no limit.
